Event - Tenner Challenge

11 April 2014

Friday 11th April, saw the first ‘Scalford School Market Place’ where the children had the opportunity to display their entrepreneurial skills as part of the Tenner Challenge business enterprise scheme.

The idea of the scheme is to loan £10 and to try to make as much profit as possible. The children can work as a team and combine their loans or set up a ‘sole trader’ business. At the end of the loan agreement the original loan of £10 must be paid back together with £1 interest.

There were a variety of businesses in our Market Place from a very well marketed sweet stall, to a dog walking business! The sun shone and the atmosphere was great with the children getting to grips with their money making schemes.

Thank you to all parents/grandparents and friends for supporting the children.

11 May 2014 - Business is Booming

Well done to the girls who opened their Café on a very wet Sunday afternoon, as part of the Tenner Challenge initiative. The weather didn’t appear to put customers off as the beautifully decorated village hall was full to brimming, with a lovely afternoon of tea and cakes had by all.

The group made a profit of over £300. We think we have just found a new generation of Mary Berry’s in Scalford!
